Wanda Finch Commander (CDR) Wanda Finch is a Commissioned Corps Officer of the US Public Health Service with the Center for Mental Health Services in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. CDR Finch provides management and technical assistance for mental health support service programs for adult consumers with mental illness. She is an ambassador to an array of mental health transformation grant activities, trauma informed programs, consumer network programs, and clinical services to the United States Army at Fort Meade, Maryland. Prior to her commission, CDR Finch earned a Master’s of Social Work and Rehabilitation Counseling. She provided psychosocial and rehabilitative day services for the DC Department of Mental Health and clinical social work practice for the Department of Defense. She was also a Principal Investigator for child abuse/neglect, Independent Consultant for an outpatient mental health center and Reentry Coordinator for a residential substance abuse treatment program. CDR Finch is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Addictions Specialist.
Steve Harrington Steve Harrington has received mental health services for more than a decade and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and major depression. He has a BS from Michigan State University, MPA from Grand Valley State University, a JD from Cooley Law School and an MP3 from Wal-Mart. He is the founder and executive director of the National Association of Peer Specialists, an organization that promotes the use of peer support in mental health settings. Steve has written three books on mental health issues and is a regular contributor to two national mental health publications.
